Management changes needed in Norwegian due to weighing and found to light during time of crisis

The one part of Norwegian's top leaders that seems to be doing ok even in Corona times is Finance represented by Geir Karlsen. But then he was the CEO for a few months. On the other hand this concurrent story of delayed aand abandoned presentations of the current staate of affairs is wearing a litle on the mantle gained during the financial restructuring of the airline.

Operations is not doing well in neither running an airline consiting of a fleet of 7 planes. Nor can they organize the and neither do they have a plan for how to expand and test the waters for other possiblilities.
With that we can put a minus on the PR and press handling department because the way they have defended this shambles reminds us of the days of Comical Ali.
Engineering also seems pretty distant if they think having only 7 planes in action instead of rotating the whole fleet to keep it current and avoid massive maintenance costs at the end. And what about that other Dreamliner fleet where nothing is moving.
Same goes for Crew Management that seems to be doing little visual to keep pilots licences current.
Cargo handling is a massive income opportunity lost and not doing anything in this area to get some cash during a standstill should cost some heads.

HR did not handle the abandonement of all its foreign crew at all well. One should think that as an international airline they would have had the necessary knowledge of regulations in different jurisdictions governing how to part with employees within at least the letters of the law. Instead they have left the whole organisation open to legal wrangling and massive unsecurity regarding its future costs. Now somebody needs to come in that is not afraid of meeting other people and can negotiate a solution. Knowledge about a small financial cost is better than complete darkness about its consequences.

IT seems to have got lost somewhere. They have not done a good job in automizing the in Norway government demand of keeping the middle eat free. Neither have they been able to easen the way ticket refunds are handled. They need to clean their systems of old sins, and with that I mean bookings that where done before CoVid19 changed the world and the legality of people travelling. Only that way can one be certain that future bookings are from people that will actually fly. And only that way can commercial and operations judge the real demand and estimate how many extra departures the current market could accommodate.

What goes for the new hires to boost onboard sales and commercial relationships for additional services, that is a department that could be put out to grazing for a good while. There is no way additional sales work by cabin crew is going to bear fruit in a time when most of them seems to be hiding behind curtains in the planes of most airlines. Neither will additional hire cars, hotels and other on websites that can't sell their core reason for existence; airline tickets.
